PCSST LION BATTALION
On October 8th 2013 the PCSST JROTC Lion Battalion welcomed in a new year of leadership with the annual promotion night. Organized entirely by the cadets of the Lion Battalion, the night went off with a huge success as new cadets were welcomed into the program with the rank of Private and those who had been in the program received their ranks, which they gained through hard work and merit. Even the lead person of PCSST, Mr. Riza, couldn't help but feel pride as he looked out into the cadets. In his speech he commented on the growth that the program has caused in students, something that no one in the vicinity could possibly deny. However Mr. Riza was not the only one who felt proud, a thunderous roar of applause was heard as parents, friends, and siblings cheered on the cadets. -C/CPT. Castro
A New Year
Thousands applauded as the PCSST JROTC Lion Battalion marched down fifth ave demonstrating both pride and hard work. Led by Battalion Commander C/LTC Shareef Thomas the cadets showed just how preparation makes a performance stand out. Along side the cadets were SAI/AI LTC (R) Mike Hodges and MSG (R) Cedric Baker. The crowd showed their excitement with applause, cheers, whistles, and even repeating the cadence that kept the cadets on step. Our cadets gave it their all until the very end where our performance was ended with a right wheel turn off of 5th ave. As the cadets rode home they felt pride knowing they did a job well done. -C/CPT. Castro

Columbus Day parade
Our JROTC cadets made a real difference today when they went to go spread some holiday cheer to our local VA home. The cadets had a good time hearing stories of retired war veterans and their family members and as a thank you they proceeded to spread some holiday cheer by singing a selection of Christmas songs for the veterans enjoyment. Some cadets were told they made a real difference today, having been told straight from the veteran that they really appreciated the time and effort they put in to listen to their stories and pass on their legacy. As the cadets rode back home there was a general sense of fulfillment and happiness in the air, not only were they proud of what they just did but they enjoyed it.- C/CPT. Castro
